There is a sequence to the AeroPilates workout

The most common question I get asked is to describe the right exercises for a particular malady. The thing that most people don't realize is that the reformer sequence has an order that was designed by Joe Pilates to remedy all maladies and build a correctly aligned and stronger body.

Have you noticed that the beginning of every AeroPilates routine starts with the Warm-up Footwork? 
This is a series of movements designed to eliminate the imbalances in your back and pelvis and to strengthen the knees. It miraculously teaches your body to engage your abs whenever you move and without the weight of your body on your joints it is able to correct and heal any knee issues while it realigns your spine.

Once the spine and pelvis are aligned you then engage in the Hundred to strengthen your abs further and get blood and oxygen into every muscle fiber and cell.

Now you are ready for the work of the major arms and leg muscles in the Arms and Legs in Straps; stretching and strengthening all the larger mobilizing muscles.

Stomach Massage and Knee Stretches followed by the hamstring stretching Elephant series and suddenly you have worked every muscle in your whole body and you are ready for the Cooldown.

Do not underestimate the beauty and science behind the sequence and just perform it with gusto, in its correct order and with a mindfulness to the form that would make Joseph pilates proud.
