You know that I believe any pain or stiffness in your body is the warning sign that you are posturally out of whack...normally caused by an isolated incorrect movement or a repetitive movement pattern.
Pilates on my reformer will absolutely help to correct and realign your bones to to relieve the pain in the muscles that are working so hard to hold that imbalance. However what happens when we stand, sit or lie down? Most of you know that I have developed various anatomic products and have endorsed others that I know will help to alleviate these problems. Some of these are already available on the site and over time we will add more. In the meantime I intend to teach a 1 hour lecture on how to diagnose and correct your own postural problems with Pilates. _________________ |

:?: I think I have fibromyalgia in my upper arms, upper back and neck.
Would an Aero Cardio Pilates machine be helpful? If so, what exercises would be most beneficial?
Thanks for your help

:DI too have fibromyalsia in my lower back, neck, arms, and shoulders. 6 years ago i was so bad that I was told to get a mobile scooter, thank heavens for physical therapist. Though I did go to many as this was an on going event, the last ones I went to were great. My mom bought my pilates XP machine for me and I used it OFTEN, especially when in pain and I can't walk.
Now i am mostly pain free, don't pass out when the weather changes, i can even walk up to 2 miles before my back hurts. Please take it easy, but yes the movements can help you a great deal.

Hi, I've got cervical spondylitis and have had some pain and numbness over recent months so have not been trying any exercise. Now things are getting better I am hoping to get back on to my Pilates mat (can't afford and haven't got the room for a machine unfortunately!). I know I must try not to strain my neck but am worried that I may inadvertently do something wrong. It would be good to see some suitable exercises that people like me could do. I am also overweight so I am not as flexible as someone slimmer.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? |

I'm a new member and would love to hear teaching from you Marjolein on posture probs and correcting them.
I get a lot from the snippets of info on QVC (UK), but the more informations we get the better!
Really love my new aero-pilates performer and feel sooo much better already - thanks for all you do... x |

I didn't vote because I wasn't clear about the question. Can you give me more information on what you mean by paying for an audio file? - Do you mean buy a tape or DVD where you explain in voice only but do not have any visuals? I would be interested in buying a DVD where you explain and demonstrate proper form. I've taken Pilates mat classes for about 4 years, but I still need guidance, especially on a machine, which is new to me. . |
