Hi, I'm 15 stone, have never really exercised in my life (I'm now 52). I really want this form of exercise to work and am prepared to give it my all. I'm extremely flabby and just need to know if anyone else out there started off like me and can tell me IT WORKS. I have just joined a slimming club, so hopefully this will work in conjunction.

Welcome, Jannie, to the world of Pilates! I am 49. In 10-2007 I purchased through QVC the aero pilates reformer with rebounder and stand. I, too, am not an exerciser and was in bad need of toning along with dropping pounds. For three months I faithfully did 20 mins of cardio and 10 mins of pilates stretches (I did not change my eating habits as I am a very picky eater). I toned up, yes, but not realizing at the time that the flab toning up would raise the scale! Unfortunately, after gaining 6 pounds I was totally depressed and stopped working out, regardless of the fact that my clothes were starting to fit looser.
After numerous emails and phone conversations with Marjolein I started up once again and stuck with it this time and I stayed away from the scales! Since the first of this year I have been doing cardio 20-25 mins plus pilates stretches 10 mins 6 times a week. I have dropped 8 pounds and 12.5 inches, my blood pressure has dropped 10 points on both top and lower numbers, I am concentrating more on healthier eating, I sleep better, and I feel so much better about myself and the good that I am doing for my mind, body and soul!!!
Best of luck, sweetie, and don't be like me and get easily depressed. The end results are so very, very rewarding!

Thanks for your reply Becky. It's just nice to know someone that the system has worked for. I will keep trying. I'd love to be one of those people who email a couple of months down the line with amazing results. You never know.
