Hey ,Sandra I'm ready to start on the 1-1 08 . How about the rest of you? There are no Holidays to get in the way now. I reeally need to get serious this time.
Mrsbob, maybe when your abs get stronger your back won't hurt. What do you think of the June Kahn dvd?
Glad to see that everyone is ready to go, lets keep each other going.
Keep jumping ladies. Sydney |

| Hi Ladies, If you don't mind, I would like to join in for the new year. I have been reading your posts since you started. I really need to lose about 30-40 pounds. I started with Marjolein in August, but started having back problems, and then got delayed. I am still having back problems, but am starting physical therapy next Thurs. I had x-ray and MRI of my back, and shows nothing major. Just some arthritis. But I think I can at least do the pilates routine along with my physical therapy. I am excited to get started. I think if I can lose some weight and losen up these tight muscles, my back will start to recover. Dixiechic |

Welcome dixiechic, I also have about 30 pounds to get of me. What pilates machine do you have and what workouts do you like to do on your machine?

| I have the 4 corded aeropilates, with rebounder. Actually I bought it in March of 2006, And was using it everyday, then had a family member with an emergency health problem and had to leave town for two months. Then we had to rearrange our lives for over a year and just now, am I getting back to some kind of so called "normal routine" again. I am 54 years old, and work 6 days a week outside the home. My kids are raised and out on their own now. I have 3 grandchildren. So i have got to get myself back into shape. I love to be with my kids, and grandchildren, but my energy level is way down. I only can do the level one pilates routine. I have been able to rebound for the full 20 min., but that was back in Aug. I have lost all of that stamina now, plus added some pounds. My back has just been hurting me so much, that I was afraid to go on with the rebounder, until I had the x ray and mri, to make sure there wasn't anything wrong. I sure didn't want to make anything worse. I truly think it is just weak muscles, but I went to a pain management dr. and he thinks it is my sacrailyac or something like that. I probably will try the rebounder for short times, this time. But I definately want to get started on a regular basis of doing the level 1. I also own a box and pole, and the circle, but haven't used them. My husband is going to move my machine downstairs, after I put away my Christmas decorations, so I will have to look at it everyday. I think that will make me get on it more often! I am excited to be a part of your group! |

Hello Ladies
Sydney
I'm ready! 01/01/08 it is. That will be our beginning date. Great! I'm excited again. Although I haven't stopped working out. I'm excited that we'll all be back motivating each other.
Dixiechic
Welcome aboard. I just got diagnosed with arthritis in my knee. I had twisted it the weekend of 12/01/07. Couldn't walk for a couple days. Was out of commission. Have to go see a specialist soon. Have to make sure it is nothing more serious. Everything seems to be fine for now. No more flare ups.
Take it slow, listen to your body. And keep posting letting us know your progress.
Talk later

Welcome Dixiechic!
I'm so bummed....my lower body dvd came today, but it doesn't work at all. So back it goes for a refund. I don't think I'll exchange it just now, I'm going to wait a bit. I haven't actually done the June Kahn dvd yet....I will get around to it though...it looks so good, but I know it will take longer, I just want to have the time to do it. Eventually, I want to get to a point that I don't have to use any dvds at all.
I did do my level 1 dvd this evening to see if it will help my stiffness and back pain. Still holding off from the rebounder though...not sure but I think it's the cause of this lower back pain. Most likely it's my form.
Eating is what I really need to focus on though. I'm slowly putting my weight back on, and I've now gone past 5 lbs of where I like to be....so it's time to get things in order. Mainly I want to focus on high energy foods and more frequent feedings.
I'm 50 now. Officially old. LOL....nah, I'm not old, but but I sure feel it sometimes....my focus right now is to work on my energy levels and my flexibility.
So are we going to start a new thread on the first to kick off the new year? |

Hey ladies,
I did my rebounding last night. Had to get started feeling very unfit. My eating I think is going to be better this year also. Have a safe night bringing in the new year.
Hey Sandra , have you been breaking anymore boards?

Hey everyone!
I'm going to be spending a nice quiet night at home with my parents for the new year. I have a cold, not feeling to hot.
Mrsbob
Absolutely we need to start a new thread for the new year, for the new challenge. 50 is not old at all. It's the new 30.
Sidney
I haven't gone to karate the whole month of december. With my knee and all it would not have been very good for the healing process. I still have some extra boards from the last time. I plan on going back very soon.
So ladies are we ready for the new year?
There is supposed to be a new pilates machine on QVC tomorrow. I'm sure I'll want it. Won't get it though. |
