Pilates Never Bores Me!
I alternate walking, occasional runs, mat classes, yoga, free weights, and
sports like tennis to my activities, but I consider Pilates as the
discipline that most defines my body image and feels like "home" to my
muscles. Like many, I followed the fads through the 80's & 90's....high
impact aerobics, videos etc. Some things were better than others and
remain, but many got boring, or outdated as the fitness world evolved.
Pilates never bores me, because it feels good and natural to my body. As a
former dancer, I had longed for a similar practice to keep my body limber &
toned rather than tight & stocky in the way traditional weights & aerobics
shaped me. Pilates shapes me leaner, and gives me a total feeling of wellness
through core strength and focus on breathing. I love the combination of stretch & strengthening gently. Working from the core outward makes the most sense to the body/mind/spirit!!
The AeroPilates rebounder not only provides a gentle and effective cardio
workout, but as I used it I felt muscles in my calves, butt, thighs and core
used in a new way, and saw them become more toned. I find small increments
at a time, usually 10-15 min, along with other exercises works best for me.
(I'm going to check your website for suggestions for variety of positions on
the rebounder, in order to extend my time on it.)
I can only fit one workout machine in my small condo, and this is the one I
choose, because for only one machine you can get a variety of benefits from
it. At 49, I credit Pilates with helping me maintain a healthy weight, as well
as the lean muscle tone and agility to remain as active as I wish to be.
Can't say it enough! I recommend this as a great basis for everyone's
fitness routines.
Happy, Healthy New Year~
Best Regards,
Amy Barbato
