Antioxidants are essential to fight aging

Antioxidants found in a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables, like berries, citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds, green tea, fish, and whole grains, are substances that help to prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules that the body produces as a reaction to environmental and other pressures.

Free radicals can cause a type of cell damage called oxidative stress, which is linked to a number of chronic diseases including heart disease, cancer, arthritis, stroke, respiratory diseases, immune deficiency, emphysema, Parkinson's disease, and other inflammatory or ischemic conditions.

We each have an ability to fight oxidative stress; some of us better than others, so being sure to ingest a variety of antioxidants will improve your health and neutralize the free radicals by donating an electron, which can effectively neutralize the rogue molecule and reduce its capacity to damage cells. If you don’t feel that you don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables it might be tim e to consider supplementing with Vit C, D and Zinc.

Here's why antioxidants are so important:

  • Help protect our cells from damage caused by potentially harmful molecules known as free radicals.

  • Prevent diseases by reducing oxidative stress,

  • Sllow down the aging process by limiting the damage that free radicals can do to our cells.

  • Help boost the immune system, enabling the body to fight off infections and diseases more effectively.

  • Protect the skin from damage, contributing to healthy skin and reducing signs of aging.
